How it works
A local group raises a concern. Farnham Voice assesses whether a structured survey is appropriate.
A short, focused survey reaches people via community groups and the mailing list.
Anonymous findings go to the relevant council representative with a request for a plain-English response.
The council explains what happens next. Their response is published here alongside the results.

Pedestrian crossing safety is a recurring concern across the area. Rather than rushing into a survey, we're taking a staged approach, working closely with local councillors and the relevant authorities to understand what's already known and what's practical before asking the community. Here's where things stand.

Ongoing initiative
Vehicle speeds are a recurring concern on several Farnham roads. We're following the same staged approach as Safe Crossings — gathering local knowledge and working with councillors and the relevant authorities before any survey. Some calming can also come indirectly: better crossings around Lowndes Passage and Old Park Lane may encourage lower speeds through improved road design, as part of our Safe Crossings work.

Parking is a recurring concern across Farnham. We're gathering early views before deciding whether a structured survey is the right next step — share your thoughts and we'll factor them in.
Petitions were submitted back in 2022 for Zone A parking improvements to be considered as part of the Farnham Infrastructure Programme, ahead of the consultation. We're told those suggestions need to be put forward again to be reconsidered for a parking review, so a structured survey is coming soon. In the meantime, share your thoughts on Zone A and B parking across Farnham.

A new planning application has been submitted for the Green Lane site — the same site refused by Waverley Borough Council in 2023. We're signposting it so you can read the background and comment directly on the council's planning portal.

Outline permission for 83 homes was granted on appeal in 2025, despite refusal over access, flooding and traffic concerns. Taylor Wimpey ran a consultation on the detailed reserved matters design — this was not a Farnham Voice survey.
