About Farnham Voice#

What Farnham Voice is#

Farnham Voice is a grassroots organisation created to help local communities and councils communicate more clearly.

We provide a connected layer between community groups and local councils.

Our focus is structured information — gathering feedback through surveys, organising the results, and sharing anonymous community data with the people responsible for local decisions.

Why Farnham Voice exists#

Councils often need good data before they can act on local issues.

But in practice, councils may not always have the time, budget, tools, or local reach needed to gather detailed feedback from residents.

This can make it difficult to understand:

  • Which issues matter most
  • Which roads or areas are affected
  • Which age groups are represented
  • Whether an issue affects everyone or only some groups
  • Whether proposed solutions are supported
  • Whether proposed solutions may create new problems

Farnham Voice helps fill this gap. We do this by working with local community groups that already understand their areas.

A clearer way to share local concerns#

Local concerns are often raised through social media posts, individual conversations, emails, and public meetings.

These can be useful, but they are often hard to measure. They may not show how widespread an issue is, and they may miss quieter residents who do not post online or attend meetings.

Farnham Voice aims to turn local concerns into clear, structured, anonymous data that can then be used by councils to better understand the issue.

What “Voice” means#

The word “Voice” is about speaking clearly and being heard constructively.

A strong community voice should be structured, fair, evidence-based, anonymous where needed, easy to understand, and useful to decision makers.

Independence#

Farnham Voice is community-led.

We are not a council department. We are not a political party. We do not exist to campaign for one fixed answer.

Our role is to gather structured community feedback and help make local decision-making more transparent.
