For Businesses#

How Farnham Voice works with local businesses#

Local businesses often have a clear and practical perspective on issues affecting the town — parking and access, footfall, road closures, the street environment, planning changes, and the general conditions for trading.

Farnham Voice welcomes structured feedback from businesses alongside community groups and residents. Business responses are treated in the same way as all other responses — anonymised, organised, and presented clearly to the relevant council representatives.

What kinds of issues are relevant#

Businesses can share feedback on a wide range of local topics, including:

  • Parking and access — availability, pricing, loading restrictions, enforcement
  • Footfall and high street vitality — pedestrian flow, public space, events
  • Road and infrastructure works — closures, diversions, disruption to access
  • Planning and development — proposed changes to the town centre or trading environment
  • Street environment — cleanliness, maintenance, signage, street furniture
  • Safety and antisocial behaviour — issues affecting staff, customers, or premises

How business data is filtered#

Survey results for business respondents are grouped in ways that reflect the trading context:

  • By type of business — retail, hospitality, professional services, and others
  • By location — street, area, or ward
  • By proximity to the issue — businesses directly affected versus those in the wider area

This means council representatives receive a clearer picture of how an issue affects different parts of the local economy, not just a combined total.

Anonymity#

Individual businesses are never identified in published results. Responses are presented as grouped data only.

Where a business type or location is specific enough that identification might be possible, data is either combined with a broader group or withheld from the published summary.
