What Farnham Voice may ask for#
To understand local issues properly, Farnham Voice may ask for:
- Your name
- Your age group
- Your local association, business, or “None” if not known
These are the minimum amounts of information needed to effectively share relevant data to the council.
Data provided to the council is anonymous, including only the results, the age group and the local association or business where needed.
Why this information is collected#
This information helps Farnham Voice contact people affected by specific local issues, understand concerns within individual areas or wards, measure how widely an issue affects the community, understand which age groups are represented in survey results, and combine feedback across Farnham where appropriate.
What is not collected#
Farnham Voice does not collect information about race or ethnicity, gender or sexuality, religious beliefs, or other personal characteristics unrelated to local issues.
Why you need to be signed up to respond#
Being on the mailing list lets us verify that each survey response comes from a real, unique local person — nothing more. This check is done using your sign-up details, and your email is never shared without your consent on a per-survey basis.
How results are published#
Survey results are published in anonymous, grouped form by default. Individual responses are never published.
Some surveys include an optional tick box to share your individual response directly with the council. If you tick it, that specific response — including your email, only if needed — may be shared with the council. If you don’t tick it, your response stays completely anonymous, exactly like everyone else’s.
How information is stored#
Contact details collected through the mailing list sign-up are stored securely and used only to send relevant survey invitations and updates.
Farnham Voice does not sell, rent, or share contact data with third parties.
Your rights#
You can ask us to tell you what information we hold about you, correct any inaccurate information, or remove you from the mailing list at any time. Email hello@farnhamvoice.uk to make any of these requests.
