West Surrey Council — Initial Vision#

The West Surrey Shadow Authority Leader, Councillor Paul Follows, shared an initial vision for the future West Surrey Council ahead of it taking over services in April 2027. For more information, visit the Surrey LGR Hub.

The vision set out ambitions for a council that:

  • Remains connected to local communities
  • Delivers real results for residents and businesses
  • Reflects the unique character of West Surrey’s towns and villages
  • Builds financial resilience and stability to provide services people rely on

West Surrey Council will take over services currently provided by Waverley Borough Council and parts of Surrey County Council.

The council’s identity consultation#

Residents were invited to help shape the future identity of West Surrey Council, ensuring it reflects the character of local towns, villages and communities. That consultation has now closed.
